What is Huawei Datacenter Virtualization Solutions (DCS)?
Huawei’s Data Center Virtualization Solution is a comprehensive set of technologies and tools that virtualize computing, storage, and network resources in a data center. It aims to enhance resource efficiency, lower operational expenses, and deliver increased flexibility and scalability for today’s IT environments.
For those familiar with VMware technology, these are the comparison to Huawei's DCS.
- Huawei eSphere = VMware vSphere.
- VRM (Virtual Resource Management) = VMware vCenter Server.
- A centralized management platform for virtualized environments, allowing administrators to oversee, distribute, and fine-tune computing, storage, and networking resources throughout the data center.
- CNA (Compute Node Agent) = VMware ESXi.
- Hypervisor Virtualization
- eContainer = VMware Tanzu Kubernetes
- Container management platform.
- UltraVR DR Software = VMware Live Site Recovery (a.k.a Site Recovery Manager).
- Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
- MigrationDirector = VMware HCX
- VM Migration tool.
- eDME = VMware Aria Suite (a.k.a vRealize Suite).
- Implements functions such as access, management, E2E resource orchestration and provisioning, and E2E intelligent O&M of various resource pools in data centers.
Huawei's DCS includes an additional module that is not available in VMware portfolio: the eBackup Software. This backup solution provides comprehensive VM-to-disk-array backup capabilities, allowing users to back up specified objects according to predefined policies and preventing the loss of critical business data.
Next: Huawei eSphere (FusionSphere) - Coming soon.
